Event Sustainability Operations Undergraduate Certificate
The average meeting and event have a great impact on emissions from such travel necessities as single-use plastics, air and ground transportation, food and beverage, and hotel and venue energy expenditures. Due to 的 size of 的 meeting and event industry, it is vital that professionals have a strong understanding of and 的 ability to implement environmental and sustainability practices.
Program Overview
The event sustainability operations certificate will prepare you to gain a wider understanding of 的 role sustainability principles and practices play when planning, conducting, and evaluating events. 这 certificate is geared toward for-profit and not-for-profit event providers. An important component of this certificate is working with actual events.
这 certificate is open and available to currently enrolled GVSU 学生. Nondegree-seeking 学生 can be admitted into 的 program by contacting 的 Hospitality and Tourism Management department.

Admissions
For new 学生, visit 的 Admissions 网站 for undergraduate requirements. Upon acceptance and for current 学生:
- Declare your certificate via my横幅 (Login to 横幅 Self-Service, click on Student, Student Records, Add a Certificate or Badge to your Program, Select 的 appropriate certificate from 的 drop-down list, and click 提交)
- Departmental approval is required. If denied, an email will be sent to your GVSU student email.
- Speak with 的 appropriate certificate coordinator to ensure criteria are being met (you will be able to track your progress toward 的 certificate in myPath as well!)
- Once you are done with 的 requirements, 应用 to receive 的 certificate via my横幅.
- Once 的 completion of your certificate has been verified, 的 certificate will be posted to your student record and will be viewable on your transcript.
